Hannelie Strydom
Hannelie Strydom embraces the unpredictable, serendipitous, and beautifully imperfect nature of her creative process. Working across a range of printmaking techniques including linocut, etching, chine-collé, engraving, monotype, drypoint, embossing, and cyanotype. She also experiments with organic, ephemeral materials such as eggshells, plant matter and teabags. These fragile elements reflect her deep engagement with the themes of impermanence, natural cycles, and the delicate balance of life. Her art stems from personal experience and reflects her belief that creativity is a form of dialogue with life, for her it is as essential and instinctive as breathing. Through her work, she seeks to give visual form to the subconscious, exploring the quiet intersections between decay and renewal, memory and material.
