Our Artists and Galleries for Solo Studios 2025

Pictorex
In the heart of Riebeek Kasteel, Pictorex is more than just a gallery—it is a sanctuary for the photographic image in its most tangible and timeless form: the fine art print.
Founded and curated by photographers William and Mary Walker, Pictorex is dedicated to nurturing a culture of printing in the digital age. The gallery showcases exceptional work, with a special focus on local photographers whose images capture the spirit, texture, and light of the Swartland and beyond.
Alongside the gallery, Pictorex houses a fully colour-managed professional print studio, offering museum-quality printing services to both emerging and established photographers. Here, images are transformed from fleeting pixels into archival prints—artworks to be held, cherished, and passed down.
At Pictorex, the belief is simple yet profound: the print remains the ultimate expression of the photographic process. The 2025 exhibition will feature photographic work by Rudolph Willemse, Laurel Heritage, Mary Walker and William Walker along with prints of original art works by Louisa Gerryts, Tanya Majo, Pippa Lea Pennington and Lara da Silva.
At its core, Pictorex champions the tactile, lasting power of the printed image, fostering a space where photography and fine art can be experienced in their most impactful form.
