Printmaking Workshops with Clare Menck
Discover the joy of printmaking with acclaimed South African artist Clare Menck during Solo Studios 2026. Hosted at the ACVV Hall in Riebeek Kasteel, these intimate, hands-on workshops invite participants to explore two accessible and playful printmaking techniques using recycled materials. Guided by Clare, you will create expressive works inspired by the themes of spirit animals and vintage swimming photography through Tetra Pak drypoint monoprinting with a pasta press and jelly-plate printing without a traditional printing press.
A celebrated painter and printmaker, Clare Menck is renowned for her evocative self-portraits, nudes and swimmers. Formerly based in Piketberg and now working in the Helderberg, her work is held in numerous private collections. Clare will also exhibit a selection of her prints at the workshop venue and other Solo Studios locations during the festival.
