Blue & White Ceramic Plate Painting Workshop with Antoinette du Plessis

Discover the timeless beauty of blue-and-white ceramics in this hands-on workshop led by ceramic artist Antoinette du Plessis during Solo Studios at Blacksmith Yard.

This workshop begins with a short introduction to the history of blue-and-white ceramics, followed by an overview of the technical and conceptual approach to the project.

Under Antoinette’s guidance, participants will develop a design to be applied to a hand-thrown bisque-fired plate, learn underpainting techniques, work with ceramic oxides, and complete a beautifully finished decorative plate.

Your finished plate will be glazed by the participants and then fired by Antoinette and will be ready for collection from Blacksmith Yard approximately 10 days after the workshop or the gallery can provide a quote for it to be sent by courier.

Places are limited. Booking is essential.

The workshop is limited to 8 participants to ensure a relaxed hands-on experience with personalised guidance from Antoinette.
